Google threatens ZigBee with new Android@Home features

The ZigBee home network standard is faced with the biggest challenger in the market, Google. Google has recently announced that Android@Home initiative will implement a set of home networking standards for the automation of household.

New networking standard through power lines is becoming a reality

This week the so called "PlugFest" is being organized, on which the interoperability of the networking products developed under the new "G.hn" standard will be tested. The products will carry a HomeGrid logo, but the standard itself is being administered by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).

Chrome OS updated with R12 release

Google has upgraded its Chrome OS Beta channel with the R12 release, which includes patches for several security issues. Orit Mazor, software engineer, concluded that the main advantages of the new upgrade are introduction of the new Flash player, improved GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) supports and great progress in terms of stability and functionality of the system compared to previous versions.
