Free edition of the security tool Metasploit

US computer security company, Rapid7, issued a free edition of it computer security testing system called Metasploit. 

The idea of the creator of Metasploit, HD Moor, is to tackle the ever increasing computer attacks and information theft. Moore thinks that by providing knowledge and tools necessary for executing computer attacks, the overall knowledge on the subject will increase, and therefore the security of average users. This free edition of the Metasploit system is called Community Editionand it has all the most important capabilities of its commercial edition Metasploit Pro. Mostly networking tools like Nmap, and wireless scanning tools, but also tools for testing the security of their operating systems.
