Security Linux distribution BackBox 2 released

Linux operating system distribution called BackBox2.0has been released. This security distribution, intended for computer systems security testing, is based on one of the most popular Linux distributions, Canonicals Ubuntu Linux.
More accurately, it is based on its “Xubuntu” version which uses XFCEgraphical user interfacethat does not use too much computer resources, thus BackBox performance is significantly improved. The distribution includes the newest versions of popular programs like “Firefox” internet browser in its version 6.0.1 or “Thunderbird” email client in version 3.1.13. Linux kernelused in the first release of BeckBox 2.0 is Linux Kernel 2.6.38. Security tools in the new BackBox distribution are divided in three sections: „Vulnerability Assessment”, “Forensic Analysis” and “VoIP Analysis” which analyzes telephone communication over the internet. The first of them is used for attacking network systems to check their security, the second group of tools is used for extracting private information and usage analysis of a computer BackBox is being run on, while the third group of tools is being used for intercepting voice communication over the Internet.
